Say It Like Obama by Shel Leanne

Bought this book today!!! Thanks to Danny... Lent it to me for a day, managed to scan thru a few topics during the camp, and found it inspiring and rather enlightening.
Those who wants to learn how President Obama presents his speech in terms of tonality, gestures, how he conveys his message that managed to win hearts and minds of people around the world, how he went thru the obstacles that have easily stopped an African American and many more oration skills, should really grab this book.
***
I've also bought a book for an orphan thru the MPH-Share-A-Gift Programme. Bought him a Tony Buzan book on mind mapping. With thoughts that it will motivate him and help him accomplish his dreams.

Just for laughs...

Hey people... I'm back... from the hustle and bustle, hubble bubble... of juggling between jobs and handling my rather..."private"... life =] Not that I've already broke free from it, on the contrary, it's just the beginning... My time is at stake, like how the world's economy is facing right now.

Something happened today, I wish I could get my camera out and snap it as evidence, yet it would just make me look unprofessional. As you all know, I've been working at a rock climbing gym for 5 months now, there's plenty of unusual things happened in there... For example, people stucked inside the toilet; kids climbed happily and halfway up they did not dare looking down, and for a split second you can hear them wailing up there; climbed at the traditional wall and got one of their hands stucked in it; the belayer almost got pulled up as the rope was entangle around his leg etc. Today... we actually found someone sun-drying his underpants!!!

If it were a boxers/knickers, whatever you call it... it would still be all right (cos it looks more presentable!!!) , unfortunately, it is a triangular shaped underpants and a bar of soap laying there on the bench, waiting to be dried.

I saw it, looked at the climbers around there, they all shooked their heads in unison, laughing their heads off claiming that it ain't theirs. Well, if I were the person who is drying my undergarments there, and forgotten to keep it before more climbers come along, I would be smart enough to follow the others, shake my head and say: It's not mine. How embarassing it is...
One of them even said:"Erm, that's too small for me you know.." Yeah, like I even want to know...

So yeah, was my job to put it at the lost and found, and hence it was my job to transfer it into a ziplock bag. Of course, making sure no contact of my skin with the piece of cloth... overturned the bag, quickly grab it and zipped it up. This is the first time, having most of the climbers laughing so loudly in the gym. That man seriously.... winner man. Definitely give a salute to him, if he ever claims it back.

So guys and girls, next time if you wanna sun-dry your undergarments, do it probably at the men's or women's, somewhere not so public, and get ready to have thicker skin... as you might get a whole lot of laughters from your unintentional publicity.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival

Celebrated bro's birthday at Woo Lim Jeong Restaurant. First time eating at the actual Korean Restaurant, where the customers are mainly from Korea(Logically...). Food was splendid. We had Bibimbap too.

Normally when you watch Korean movie, the mother/ wife will always mention they are making Bibimbap for their family. Bibimbap sounds like some "pau" sort of name, but nah, it's rice with assorted veges.
No wonder I don't see "pau" or "kuih" in the show...

If it weren't for the seafood pancake, I'm sure we could have ordered more bbq meat. Price is quite reasonable for such a meal. So whoever is going for Korean food, please do let me tag along... Kamsamida ;]

Taylor Swift's Love story

"If you're lucky to be different from everybody else, don't change." ~ Taylor Swift ~

How to Make a Chalkbag (Project Iewnihc 1)

No work today.
Only read a chapter of my novel, "Mercy".
Put it aside, washed my uniform and dry it before the dark clouds come.
Played with my rabbits for a little.
Switched on my com, turned it off after awhile (bo... ring....)

And this is what I do everyday, work or no work....

Was asking myself, what can I do today that will be different from yesterday? Da Dee Du... 2 days ago, I was sorting my clothes out, old/ torn/ simply couldn't fit 'ahem'/ out of fashion. Any of my clothes that fall into this category, means BEPPP~ - out! So I decided to make something out from my old, torn, super faded jeans. (Not exactly mine though, and it wasn't my choice to accidentally tear it... moreover, at the wrong spot... )

No idea what to make out of it... Bag? nah... Bikini? haha... Scrunchy? probably...
Being alone at home gave me the extra courage to snap my jeans. Gahaha...
Having fun cutting it, without even planning what to make. Snap ... Snap... Snap...

Chalk bag! Yeah... The chalk bags sold at the Proshop, after discount is around RM 17. And RM 17 is for those really plain white ones...Way too pricey!!! So yeap decided to make one... Have a rough sketch in the air, then continued with my project. My jeans will be the exterior out my chalk bag, and I removed the interior of my old bag to be the interior of my soon-to-be chalk bag, as it is PVC. Get its rough diameter, drew 2 circles on a cardboard, using it as the base later.

Here comes the challenge- sewing!
Last time I sewed was in high school, Form two, couldn't really recall...
I sewed the base and its interior for almost 2 hours.. man... Without my mother's help, I think I'll be sewing til midnight.

It looks quite cool actually... will post a picture up soon... so whoever is interested can start snappin' your pants and get a chalk bag! But of course, use the cheapest materials...

I'm considering to put this on Ebay. What do you think?!?!

Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan...

Went to Penang for two days, for a short vacation, luckily I'm not scheduled on any shifts for these days. Got a free ride from my uncle while he went there for his business.

Haven't been there for 4 years. Last time I went was to visit my new-born niece. And slightly before that was for LEO Forum. I could still remember some landmarks though, for instance: the penang bridge, haha... Gurney drive, the way to the famous kopitiam - Genting, rough idea on how to get to my cousin's house etc.

There's no need to ask what I did there as Penang is well known as the food haven. I ate Asam Laksa, Char Koay Teow, Prawn Mee, 2 plates of Chee Cheong Fun and the coconut tart. I have been controlling the amount of food consumed lately, I bet if my colleagues saw how much I ate at one go, they would be flabbergasted. Eating all these delicacies within such a short stay gave me a sense of satisfaction. Guess I should have short trips more often, exercise my intestines and de-stressing at the same time.

All righto, start to feel some rumble in my tummy now, better get some sleep now... tschao!!!

Level of Commitment

The word "commitment" confuses us from time to time...

Case 1: Say you work only twice a week compared to someone who works 5 days a week... Who's more committed? Does it actually base on the working hours? Or does it still falls back into the "how productive your work is" principle?

Case 2: Say the time you spent with your spouse/ partner is short, and that's because you are busy earning money for a living compared to because you find some difficulties in your relationship and chose to hide-away from it just to make sure you both stay together forever?

Different people has different definitions of each particular word, what helps them to link a word and its definitions is a picture that they form in their mind which they learnt or saw throughout their lifes. And that's when different people has different priorities in life, it may be cash, food, education etc. Thus, before labelling someone as selfish, make sure you know them well enough before letting out your words, for words that comes out from a human's tongue is like a dagger stabbed through the person's heart. And you can never mend it back, the scar has formed.

What I've learnt from my NLP for dummies is that we can't judge someone from part of his/her actions. People are much more than their behaviour- Behaving "badly" doesn't make a person a bad person. It's essential to separate the behaviour from the person. It may be a person finds himself/ herself in an environment that stops them from being the best they can be. So by helping someone develop capabilities and skills or to move to a more conducive environment can often change someone's behaviour dramatically and propel them to new levels of excellence.

Back to the word "commitment", have u got the answers?

What am I supposed to do???

At times I would just stop and reevaluate, whether what I've done is what I wanted, whether my choice will bring me further on to enjoy life fully...

My job: I'm loving every bit of it! Meeting people from different walks of life, each with their very own characteristics, which makes them special. The part that some people kept finding fault in me just make my smile fade. So much of teaching me about positive thinking yea... Hope that they focus more on my improvements. It's all right, probably I'll introduce Law of Attraction to them soon.

The course that I want to pursue: There's so many choices. It's good to have choices than to have none. Somehow it's making me cracking up...lol... So I'm taking another 4 months break, to look into every single aspects and what I'll work best in.

********

Had a little catch-up session with Mei Xin & Yi Lyn. Haven't done that for about 8 months... Man, that's long....... Do I look thinner?! (Syok sendiri again...)

Of course before that I met up with Sen Ming & Nikki, just that the pics ain't in my hand yet...=]

********

Something I would like to share:::

James 3
Taming the Tongue

1 Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. 2 We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check.

3 When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. 4 Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. 5 Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

7 All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, 8 but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

9 With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. 10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. 11 Can both fresh water and salt[f] water flow from the same spring? 12 My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

No show...

Indeed, life is tough...

It's all right Chong Wei! Next 4 years make sure you snatch the gold medal back!
4 years for you to train phsyically and mentally...
4 years for you to improve your diet...
4 years is just enough...

=]

Lee Chong Wei

RM 300, ooo richer now! Man, I cheered for him as if I'm at the Beijing University of Technology Gymnasium watching the semi-finals. Ready to defeat Lin Dan after competed with South Korean Lee Hyun-il by 21-18, 13-21, 21-13. Awesome!!!

Shall watch the Men's singles finals this Sunday, it's at 8.48pm. Doubt I get to watch the match, have work at 2pm.

Let's all send positive brainwave to Chong Wei during the match, and let him shine us to the world! Let's watch the 2008 Thomas Cup, how our Mr Lee defeated Mr Lin. Nyeheh... (sorry it's in mandarin...)

Hope Rexy comes to Camp 5 again... this time I so wanna take a pic with him... lol... I know, just not something chin wei will do...

Malaysia... Boleh...

WWwoooooooohoooOOOO!!!

Chong Wei made it to the semi-finals! Bravo! (Picturing him with a medal now...)

Chong Wei vs Indonesia's Kuncoro... 21-9, 21-11.

Awesome... Hopefully history repeats itself, and Lin Dan will be defeated by our second seed Lee Chong Wei!

Wack...

Chong Wei will be playing soon... should be "the" game... Get your popcorns ready people!

Did you all watch China versus Poland? Was really a tough fight... As usual the Chinese (China Chinese) with the quadruple X factor won.

One thing I find funny is normally when people scores it's either they high 5 or give words of encouragement. But for Mateusiak and Kostiucyzk it's different. They use their racket to wack each others butt. haha. They don't talk much either.

Til then... Chong Wei now...

Cho~~~~

Shaiiikes... KKK and Tan Boon Heong lost. Man... Lee Chong Wei is our only hope... for a medal..
Anyway, did you all notice? Each time KKK scores, he'll shout "CHO~".

Lots to learn from the China team, either you win or leave it. They performed marvellously so far. They really do whatever it takes to break the record. So why can't the Malaysians? Can't say much, after all, I'm just a spectator, wouldn't know how it feels like to represent the country for Olympics.

Went for Hypertitis A & B jab this morning. The doc saw me holding a story book, eventually introduced me to a book which she thought it's story is heart-wrenching. My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult.

Short synopsis:

Anna is not sick, but she might as well be. By age thirteen, she has undergone countless surgeries, transfusions, and shots so that her older sister, Kate, can somehow fight the leukemia that has plagued her since childhood. The product of preimplantation genetic diagnosis, Anna was conceived as a bone marrow match for Kate - a life and a role that she has never questioned… until now. Like most teenagers, Anna is beginning to question who she truly is. But unlike most teenagers, she has always been defined in terms of her sister - and so Anna makes a decision that for most would be unthinkable… a decision that will tear her family apart and have perhaps fatal consequences for the sister she loves. My Sister's Keeper examines what it means to be a good parent, a good sister, a good person. Is it morally correct to do whatever it takes to save a child's life… even if that means infringing upon the rights of another? Is it worth trying to discover who you really are, if that quest makes you like yourself less?

Life is just unfair ain't it... Whoever has this book, mind lending it to me?!?! =] (I'm waiting...)

Turtle Nightlight ~ Ma' Daerah

27-29 June '08

Went to Ma' Daerah, a turtle sanctuary at Kerteh. Why would I go there just to see turtles??? Well I haven't been to these places before, plus I really like animals, and the whole turtle sanctuary thing sounds really intriguing.

Shall start with this place Kerteh. It's like a small town, and to those who does'nt know where it is... It's in Kuantan. Nah, it's at the edge of Terengganu, near Kuantan. So still remember your form 2 /3 Geography syllabus??? It's one of the place in Malaysia which has aplenty of petroleum. Besides that, their quite famous for their keropok lekor.

The fellow Taylorians took a bus to Kerteh. As the turtle sanctuary was far in, we had to walk around 15-20 mins or so. And it's a steep road at some point, some of us nearly slipped. Eyes must be on the ground most of the times, it's not only muddy and rocky but dunky as well... loads of cow dunk.
This picture reminds me of New Zealand. AHhhh... just that there's no pine trees and the cow weren't black and white. Every morning they will be let out and start grazing grass. Want to know how to differentiate a KLites from the others? Just ask them what animal is that (in the pic) and surprisingly they will answer horse. I heard my friends shouting :"Wow, there's horse here!!" I followed them, and saw something that looks like cow. Geeezz...
Couldn't wait to see the sea. (tho just came back from Redang) We walked straight down to the rocks near the forest. Were told not to go there or wander around at night as the sanctuary was surrounded by virgin forest.
This is the view from the rocky zone. What's a nice view without a nice person with a nice smile with a nice tan?! =P
Everyone was excited! Jia Yi~ Shi Hoay~ Julie~ Pheikvay~
Balitong's familia....
Newly built toilet.
Supposed to be the girls'.
The boys' loo doesn't have a door for every shower.
Ended up, boy's and girl's loo.

The wheather was scorching. Even the cat followed us lazing and lying around.

Turtle time! We get to see experts act as midwives. The turtles may take more than an hour to find for the strategic spot to place their eggs in. So when the turtle dug a hole, the midwife will start to collect their eggs as soon as they are laid.

At the same time, we the volunteers will start to help them to count the number of eggs. After counting, transfer the egg to a bucket, then bring them to hatchery. Write at the board the date
and number of eggs. All this small steps are crucial. When they are hatched, we will count the number of hatchlings. If the numbers doesn't tally, we have to find out the reason whether they were unhatched or undeveloped.
Once they are hatch, we immediately let them out to the sea. Take around 50 days to hatch. Lower temperature will result to more male hatchlings, vice versa.
The pit
Turtle tracks looks like the tractors. One way to know whether the island or beach you go to has turtles, is by spotting parts of jellyfish at the seaside. Jellyfish is a delicacy among the turtles.
Aliens... It's slightly brighter than the blue sand we saw in Redang. I went for a walk with pak cik, to check on the other turtles. And he collected what he called kunang-kunang for me. Asked him isn't kunang-kunang same as kelip-kelip which are fireflies, he said yes, just that these has no wings. (sweat)
We took our blanket out and slept on the beach. Was hoping some turtle come up to me and sleep with me... hehe. Woke up early in the morn waiting for the sunrise. Was right in front of me... coool! Snap... snap... snap...

I'll be back!!!
Interested to volunteer, kindly apply to this site http://madaerah.org/
Quick tip: June and July is the time where the turtles comes up frequently. Thus, you get to see the turtles laying eggs and hatchlings.

Bukit Tinggi ~ Colmar Tropicale

20-22 June '08

Right after Redang, my family and I went to Bukit Tinggi. After all the heat at Redang, finally getting chilled at Bukit Tinggi.

Guess it was due to global warming, Bt. Tinggi ain't as cooling as before.

Right, so the usual thing: First day and last day at apartment. Second day went to Japanese Village, Botanical Garden and of course Colmar Tropicale. No rabbit park this time, my house already have two...

Can see the apartment there?! It's Meranti Suites...

Golf course. Loved by all golfers... with its temperature cooler than those down the hill...

It is filled with "sakuras", which gave it an extra credit.
The Japanese Village. We are allowed to stay for 2 days 1 night, it's pricey though. They really have nice landscapes there....

Mom and Aunt.

We went to the Botanical Garden right after that... Varieties of plants and flowers. Yet only one thing caught my eyes....

Infertile banana tree....

New French Castle.

"My hobbi ze plucking feathers... " They can't stop plucking!

Their feathers are all around them...

View in Colmar Tropicale. Make you feel like you were once in France...

Here's the thing, if you can bare the tranquility and scenic view, then you should be enjoying your trip. If not, drive on to Genting... =]

job... my job...

I've got accepted!!! By camp 5 last Thursday...

What have I done so far? I haven't started working yet. Still undergoing training.
Training=No pay! haha

So how's being trained at camp 5 like? It's quite professional. I'm like the guinea pig actually. They have implemented on the training modules. And I'm the first one to experience it, a total of 9 modules(long ones), holly molly...

I've been sticking very close to my operational manager, Sharon. Even my colleague say I'm like a small little duck following behind her... (Wanted to joke at first: You meant she's a duck too?! But since it's not nice to joke this way to a manager so I held my breath... what's more? she's pregnant)

From Monday to Wednesday, was busy reading manuals. Then she'll start bombarding me with questions. Today I went at 8 am, so that she could spend more time on my trainings. Managed to finished 3 modules in one shot. Woo hoo... Yet something happened, so she didn't feel like training me so much, so all the way she kept saying I don't know.
'What should I ask the person?'
"I don't know"
'Fine!'
I answered with a nice tone lar of course. Was doing data entry, then half way a call came up. Forced to answer. I spoke quite slowly, did not intro myself and went on with bookings. Right after I hung up...
"Hey... Don't need to tell people this is camp 5 is it? What about your name?"
So in my mind, I kept practising... ~Hello Good Afternoon! This is camp 5! Chin Wei speaking! How may I help you?~ Over and over again... And she called from her office to check on me... Eventually got tongue-tied lol...

Apparently, today was quite fun. I prefer walking around and absorbing things rather than sitting all day long and study. With Sharon, however strict she is, she's still have the smiling face at all times. Guess she's glad with me memorising all the price and all, and eagerly putting me on schedule this weekend, instead of next weekend. And I learnt faster by not doing the right thing first...

The toughest question she asked was:" Do you want to climb???" I couldn't climb for free yet, not until I start my duty... Wanted to say YES so badly. Was counting the odds of her yelling at me. So I intelligently answered a firm 'No'. Smart choice. 'cos she called me good girl in the end.

Couldn't believe I'm reading this much during my holidays... Can't wait for tomorrow! 4 hours assessment. And will be done!...for the time being...

Aight... Signing off for now!

Attract positive thoughts by first thinking postively!

Beaches... Fine Sands... Big Blue Sea...

16-19 June '08
We talked about it half way studying for Trials... Time flies... slipping away from our hands... Looking back at Redang trip now, it's like so long ago.
Waited for our chartered bus at Taylor's Business School at 10 pm.
Shouldn't bother waiting there so early, M'sians are just so fashionably late.
Departed Subang at 11 pm...

Reached the jetty at around 7.30am. Yup it's Nikki!!! Surprisingly she agreed to join my class trip... Miracles do occur...
Waited till 9 am for the boat to come...

Finally reached Redang! woohoo... Look at the sea, still can smell the salty taste in the air. Just loved it… ahh…Laguna!!! Did not get to get a taste of haven, too pricey… stayed at Redang Bay instead. Besides the fried fish and Wernny’s bed, everything was pretty awesome…
There’s 2 snorkelling sessions per day. Making it 5 times during our 4 days 3 nights stay at Redang. And we had an extra one, at Redang, to see baby sharks.

Did not know we must do a short ritual before jumping in…

Managed to get Samuel to be our sandman. Stared at this pic for quite some time, thinking what is that white thing poking out… Ahh, it’s the dead coral, as Samu’s nipple, kekekeke…

Haha… Samu’s horny look!!! Melvin seems happy touching IT!!! Girls beware! First, he talks about Chong Yi’s arse all the time. Second, he’s doing this to Samuel..

Guess too much of UV rays… Plus studying A Levels for one and a half years really get you a little cuckoo… (Notice my expression..lol)

Room 85! Our activity room.

Break into groups… Some played snap, some twister…
While waiting for the next round of twister, was busy learning how to hold Isabella… Wolf’s baby…
The one beside me… Andrew. The one who sort of help us settle things, after that dumped us aside for diving. Yeap, Isabella is the flute… Looks like a guy more than a girl to me…

Don’t I look like some orchestra performer?!As professional as I can be…

Should see when Adiel was still playing. Stuck his leg between my legs on purpose. Because of that, they call this game, Battle of the B**ches. And I won! That’s because I’m not a B, I kept going to a corner and let the rest B around and eventually they got tired and lost their balance… Or maybe I’m a B- B for Brainny!!!

Our rest area… hammocks all over…

Hamburger and mouse? ! Gee… who’s that?

Sort of drank beside the pool. Nadia: “OMG, don’t tempt me la…”

This is the place where Nikki, June and I went to chilled out between the snorkeling sessions. Redang Beach Resort. Very happening place, they have really good music at night. (Nik and June… What I did there, remains between your two ears ya… hehe)

Turtle… saw it from the boat! (Torte’s friend)

Hashim… using the comb as his mic. Final farewell speech. Boy, you really shocked me when you threw the coconut at Melvin… Yet it was hilarious!

Climbed to the top of the rocks… Lighted up candles and talked our hearts out.

We were quite bored when it comes to night. Practiced the song that I learnt years ago on the guitar that Andrew “borrowed” from the Burmese.

And as usual, Melvin will start seducing guys…

Love is in the air… Saw this on the way to our parrtaayyy…

Caught red handed again…

Went kayaking on the last day. Felt ecstatic after it…

Sand therapy… hehe

Our kingdom!!!

JH’s turtle… Em.. Laying eggs…

Due to the harsh climate at Redang. Many of us experienced natural selection. These are the fittess, who managed to crawl out from the bed to watch sun rise.

Who wouldn’t wish to stay longer?

The _ s….

Couldn’t figure out why Paul is under JH’s armpit… but yea.. enjoying our last moments at Redang Beach. I did the bubble effect! =]

Had a shot with Paul at More More Tea Inn… .

PM 12 ;P

Thanks for all the pics Paula… You’ve captured every moment…

I’ll be back soon…

Sorry no bikini… I looked sportier in this right?

(Look at the clouds, looked like I’ve thoughts bubbling out…)
