CNY 2008

Same as every year, my family will go back to our hometown- T'ganu. Whenever I say I'm born there, no one believes... "You don't look like you're from T'ganu, you look like KL lang more...", "Don't lie la, why on earth would you want to use T'ganu to joke about?!"... Hmm, how could we distinguish a person's birth place just by the way they look? The skin colour? The weird fashion? Some of my friends even think that the Chinese in T'ganu must wear long sleeves, go grocery store must have a line for males and another for females while paying, da da da. You wouldn't know if you've not been there, it's just the same as KL la! We still wear shorts, sleeveless top... run across the road to the opposite to shop.

Back to T'ganu for CNY has always been the same. First day, go to the beach. Second day, go air panas LA. If there's a third day, then we will go Lata Tembakah - the waterfall. For this year, we went back home on the third day, so there's no Lata Tembakah!

Day 1-

Reached the beach. Wanted to swim, but all the aunty uncle say to dangerous, strong current... So it ended up like the picture. Just by standing there, wait for the wave to hit our legs, could miraculously bring lots of joy to us. City people la what to do, never tasted the salty sea water as much as the kampung kids. Eventually, after a while, the boys will "accidentally" fall and started
to swim in it.

Some of us played football, whenever the goalie kicks, all of us musn't look up, the sand would just fall into our eyes. Worst still if you open your mouth... lol... Extremely fun though, fell hard on the sand while kicking... busy clearing the sand off the face while kicking the ball....

When we went back to grandma's house, all of us were forced to taste this slimy thing then guess what it is before entering the house. You wouldn't have the slghtest idea what it is... It's very oily, jelly-like, fishy smell... It's pork!!! The Russian customer knew it's our new year, so he bought pork knuckle and cook it for 7-hours. So in the pic, the jelly-like substance is gelatin... which means it's fats!!! All of us felt like vomtting after eatting it, only like four guys love it. Guys do have weird taste huh... lol

After dinner, after gambling, after talking until there's nothing to talk about, we went back to the hotel to sleep. Believe it or not I slept at One Utama's hotel. It ain't One World, it's called One Utama'as hotel. I think 'cause OU at PJ is like a must-go place, so they want to have the fame by having the same name but at Jerteh instead. Ground floor is the mini shopping complex, upstairs are the hotel rooms.
